Sciforma user testimony: SNCF

In charge of the development, improvement, upkeep, and surveillance of the French rail network, the Engineering Department of SNCF (French national railways) has selected PSNext to manage its projects.
Almost 1,000 project managers are working on PSNext, ensuring full control of an awkward issue for SNCF by using PSNext' capacity for project synchronisation - the necessity not to disrupt train schedules means that projects (e.g. renovation of some engineering structure) have a need for total knowledge of when work can be carried out and the workload of the various job classifications involved.
PSNext has enabled a three-level schedule to be put in place (Management, Finance and functional managers) for project management, budget management, and long-term workload schedules for job classifications.
A truly standardised, collective, and complete
system (including non-project tasks) was therefore
set up.
In particular, it enables:
- Time, cost, and quality targets to be exchanged between stakeholders.
- Forecast team workloads to be optimised.
- The right moment to recruit or sub-contract to be anticipated.
- All project stakeholders to assume responsibility and commit to the project.
