EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework with UK Extension, and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework

Sciforma complies with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (EU-U.S. DPF), and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Swiss-U.S. DPF) as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce.  

Subsidiaries of Sciforma also comply with the Data Privacy Framework Principles, this extends to U.S Entities and Subsidiaries to include KeyedIn Solutions Inc.  

 

Sciforma has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework Principles (EU-U.S. DPF Principles) with regard to the processing of personal data received from the European Union in reliance on the EU-U.S. DPF and from the United Kingdom (and Gibraltar) under the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF. Sciforma has certified to the U.S. Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework Principles (Swiss-U.S. DPF Principles) with regard to the processing of personal data received from Switzerland in reliance on the Swiss-U.S. DPF.  

 

 

If there is any conflict between the terms in this privacy policy and the EU-U.S. DPF Principles and/or the Swiss-U.S. DPF Principles, the Principles shall govern.

Sciforma is responsible for the processing of personal data it receives, under the EU-U.S. DPF, the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and Swiss-U.S. DPF and subsequently transfers to a third party acting as an agent on its behalf. Sciforma complies with the EU-U.S. DPF Principles and the Swiss-U.S. DPF Principles for all onward transfers of personal data from the EU, UK, and Switzerland, including the onward transfer liability provisions, unless Sciforma proves that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage. 

The Federal Trade Commission has jurisdiction over Sciforma’s compliance with the EU-U.S. DPF, the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. DPF. In certain situations, Sciforma may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.  

 

In compliance with the EU-U.S. DPF and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF and the Swiss-U.S. DPF, Sciforma commits to refer unresolved complaints concerning our handling of personal data received in reliance on the EU-U.S. DPF and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF and the Swiss-U.S. DPF to TRUSTe, an alternative dispute resolution provider based in the United States. What information do we collect?

When you visit Sciforma’s website, we may request that you provide us with some personal information, including your name, your email and postal address, your phone number, your company name, your job title as well as any other information you choose to provide. We may collect personal information from you in the following ways: 

 

  • Registration for a live demo of a Sciforma product or a webinar 
  • Newsletter registration 
  • Mandatory registration prior to the downloading of White papers, brochures, etc. 

 

Sciforma may also collect information through automatic data gathering tools:

Opt-out of Marketing : How to update your Personal Information?

If you do not wish to receive future marketing or other commercial messages from us, simply follow the unsubscribe instructions contained within the message you receive. But note that you, as a Sciforma customer, may continue to receive certain communications from us that are necessary for the Service, such as renewal notifications, invoices, technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative service bulletins. 

Analytics Tools

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to collect usage data, including your web browser type and version, your IP address, and visit information such as the date, the page viewed, and the number of clicks. The information about website usage is transmitted to Google in the United States of America. Such information, collected through your interactions on our website, is used to compile statistical reports on Sciforma’s website, that are used to help us understand who our potential customers are, and to assess our marketing effectiveness.

Your personal information is not contained on our website and we do not store it. However, non-personal visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses. We use third party analytics tools, such as Pardot, which help us in assessing your interactions on our website as well as information you may provide so that we can refine certain of our automated marketing efforts. We use this information to better understand our customers and potential customers and to assess our marketing effectiveness and/or business performance. 

 

We do not include or offer third-party products or services on our website. Sciforma’s website contains links to other sites. Sciforma is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of said websites. 

Google

We use Google AdSense Advertising on our website. Google’s advertising requirements can be summed up by Google’s Advertising Principles. They have been put in place to provide a positive experience for users. 

 

We, along with third-party vendors such as Google, use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies (such as the Pardot cookie) or other third-party identifiers together to compile data regarding user interactions with ad impressions and other ad service functions as they relate to our website. 

 

Users can set preferences as to how they’d like Google ads to appear/behave using the Google Ad Settings page. COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act)

When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under the age of 13 years old, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control of monitoring it. The Federal Trade Commission, the United States consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children’s privacy and safety online. 

 

Sciforma will never knowingly solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 without requiring parental consent. Sciforma does not specifically market products and services to children.

Sciforma’s Data Privacy Framework Commitments, applicable to Sciforma.net customers (SaaS Sciforma solution)

Sciforma Cloud is a Project Portfolio Management solution offered in the Software as a Service (SaaS) model. Sciforma enables project managers to administer all aspects of project, resource, demand, and change management. 

 

The personal data processed through the Sciforma Cloud may relate to: 

  • Personal information about the Sciforma Cloud customer’s employees, including name, function, and contact information. 
  • Resource information such as work effort, task duration, and cost. 

 

Customers can add other fields that can contain additional personal data. However, it must be noted that Sciforma is a general purpose PPM tool, and is not specifically designed or certified to handle more sensitive personal data, like credit card information or health data. 

 

Sciforma strives to protect customer privacy—we value customer business and we are aware of the trust placed in us. The Sciforma commitment is to process the personal data only on behalf of the customer. The personal data of our customers is not used by Sciforma and is even less likely to be transmitted to third parties or resold. 

 

In order to secure our customer’s information, to prevent it from unauthorized access, to ensure its correct use, and to maintain data accuracy, Sciforma has implemented managerial procedures and appropriate security measures. 

 

When processing its customers’ personal data on the Sciforma Cloud (Sciforma SaaS), Sciforma complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
